The Lady Panthers will once again face Haskell but this time it for the right to move on into the MCAC Conference Tournament. The top six teams make the conference tournament every year but this year it wasn't clear who the sixth team actually was. Both York and Haskell had arguments to make on why they should be that team. Haskell had the same amount of conference wins as York but had a better winning percentage due to playing one less conference match. York beat Haskell in head-to-head play two weeks ago but with the one extra loss things didn't quite match up. The conference had a quick meeting and decided there needed to be a play-in game to determine the sixth and final team for the tournament.
Today at 11:00am York faces Haskell in Bellevue (Neb), regular season champion, to earn the right to move on in the tournament and face Waldorf College.
The Panthers are led offensively by Nicole Gates power as she has 214 kills on the year with a .176 hitting pct. Melanie Baxa leads the team in assists averaging 7.42/game totaling 831 on the year. Tatiana Arvie has 548 digs on the season from the libero position averaging just over 4.7/game.
Overall the Panthers are 7-27 and 4-8 in conference. The records don't matter anymore as the season is now win to keep on playing. York College looks to do just that today at 11:00am. Follow the tournament live by clicking on the link below.
