Nomination Form

Nominations for the York University Athletic Hall of Fame may be submitted by any alumnus or employee of the university. All sports sponsored by the university will be given equal consideration, including discontinued programs. It is suggested that no more than three members per year should be inducted into the Hall of Fame. 

Nominations will be considered by an on-campus group of four employees plus the chairman of the York Lettermen's Association for a total of five votes to assure a majority. The Athletic Director, Associate Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications, and a full-time faculty member at York University shall comprise the voting body. Nominations shall be considered each spring semester and approved before the end of the academic year. Formal induction will take place during the following year.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Membership in the York University Athletic Hall of Fame may be extended to persons who have actively participated in athletics while students at York University or have been closely associated with athletics at the university.
  • The recipient shall have possessed, in addition to outstanding ability in a sport or sports, other qualifications such as sportsmanship, character and integrity, and the recipient shall be one who has brought distinction to the university.
  • The recipient should have completed his or her athletic eligibility and athletic participation at least 5 years prior to nomination.
