Men's Soccer: Panthers win regular season finale in OT

Hillsboro, KAN. - Rodrgio Saldana found the back of the net after a pass from Arturo Gutierrez III (FR/Hacienda Heights, Calif) split two defenders for the game winner in overtime Saturday night. The Panthers scored twice in the final 15 minutes to secure their first 10-win season in 15 years. The win also secured the Panthers the sixth seed in the KCAC playoffs due to start on Saturday, November 4.

After allowing a goal in the 24th minute the Panhters pressed the entire second half to find the equalizer. It took a while, but in the 83rd minute Johan Rodriguez (SO/Texas City, Texas) intercepted a deflection and scored for the 1-1 tie.

Neither team could find the game-winner in regulation so the Panthers went on to play their fifth overtime game of the season. Saldana was the hero of the night as he notched the win with his strong finish in the 98th minute of play.

York awaits their destination for the first round of the conference tournament as that will be announced after the rest of the conference finishes their regular season matches on Tuesday night.
