YORK - York was able to stay in the win column thanks to Jonathan Thoroughgood (SO/Antigua) scoring the game winner in the 74th minute on Wednesday afternoon. In a game where the Panthers were dominate on the field the score didn't show that as York was only able to get past the Lancers goalkeeper once.

York outshot the Lancers 20-1. That one shot from Mount Marty was not on frame either as Francisco Esteves (SO/Tomar, Portugal) picked up the easy shutout. Jorge Alencar (FR/Recife, Brazil) led the Panthers with five shots, while Alan Gomes (SO/Fortaleza, Brazil) and Johan Rodriguez (SO/Texas City, Texas) each added three.

The Lancer's goalkeeper Gabriel Ivlev gave his outmanned team some hope as he saved 10 of the 11 shots on frame. But his offense was unable to get an attack going.

York will have a few days off before opening KCAC play on Tuesday with a matchup against Southwestern College at home. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kick off.
