Panthers unable to outlast McPherson despite outshooting the Bulldogs

Wichita, KAN. - Despite outshooting the McPherson Bulldogs 20-13, the Panthers were unable to secure the win for their record, losing 2-1 in overtime. York's Breanna Bembenek (JR/New Lenox, Ill) scored the first goal against the McPherson Bulldogs just one minute into the game. York had 11 shots that were on goal to just three for the Bulldogs.

Cassandra Martinez (SR/Madera, Calif) was able to save one of the Bulldogs' three shots in the afternoon as she was credited with the loss. Shooting on goal for the Panthers was Breanna Bembenek with four, Amber Jimenez (JR/Gilbert, Ariz) with three, Jazmin Pineda (SO/San Diego, Calif) with with, followed by Chailey Bollens (SO/Trabuco Canyon, Calif) and Logan Dye (JR/Wylie, Texas) with one each.

Emma Singleton scored both goals for the Bulldogs. Goalkeeper Christies Silber for McPherson had nine saves in the match.

The Panthers will be back at home on Saturday, November 2, facing the Tabor Bluejays at 1:00 pm.
