CRETE - The Panthers started off the 2019 season in strong fashion as they traveled to Doane on Thursday night. York won the contest 3-0.

Otavio Avila (FR/Morro Redondo, RS Brazil) was the difference maker as he scored his first collegiate goal in the 30th minute off of an assist from Arturo Gutierrez III (SO/Hacienda Heights, Calif). Avila scored his second goal in the 55th minute to put the Panthers up 2-0. Gutierrez III scored the final Panther goal in the 74th minute.

York outshot the Tigers 21-9 as they maintained possession for most of the match. Gabriel Cabral (SO/Campinas, Brazil) picked up the shut out in goal for the Panthers.
