YORK - McPherson controlled most of the game, but you wouldn't have known that if you just showed up for the last 10 minutes of play. Down 2-0 with just under 10 minutes remaining the Panthers played relentlessly. Their efforts paid off in the 87th minute as Thiago Pinheiro (JR/Itu, Brazil) crossed the ball toward the middle and Pedro Carvalho (SR/Oklahoma City, Okla) hammered it home from 18 yards out. York pressured the final three minutes but came up short in their efforts as the Bulldogs hung on for the 2-1 win.

York didn't get a shot on target during the first half and was outshot 8-0. The Panthers looked to go into the break with the score tied, however, the Bulldogs scored with 40 seconds remaining in the half. The momentum the Panthers were hoping to gain during the intermission after not getting a shot on goal deflated with the goal.

York held strong with the one-goal differential until the Bulldogs executed a corner kick perfectly and scored off of a header in the 78th minute.

Ethan Harkless (FR/Greeley, CO) had a couple of big saves on the day where he stopped some one-on-one breakaways to keep the Panthers in the game. He was credited with five saves while allowing two goals.

York will host Oklahoma Wesleyan this Saturday at the Cornerstone Sports Complex. The game is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m.
