YORK - Caitlyn Trower scored two goals on Tuesday afternoon to give the Panthers their first KCAC win on the season with the 2-0 victory against Sterling College. The Panthers wasted no time as Jazmin Pineda found Trower in the 15th minute for goal number one. Pineda made a few slick moves around defenders before sending a through ball up the middle that Trower ran on to and then slid past the keeper for the game-winning goal.

Twenty-two minutes later it was Trower again as she juked out a defender at the top of the penalty area before sending a shot to the far right post that hit the post and ricocheted in. The Panthers created some more opportunities but ended up settling for just the two goals on the afternoon.

York was credited with eight shots on the day, while the Warriors picked up just four. Pineda and Trower each was credited with two shots on goal for the Panthers. Bryn Decker and Karla Chairez were the others to have shot on frame for York.

Alexa Moreno was not as busy as she's been as she picked up three saves in the shutout win.

The Panthers travel to Kansas on Saturday to face Tabor College.
