Box Score YORK - The Panthers battled a tough Friends University on Saturday afternoon in the Freeman Center. After falling in the first set 25-16 the Panthers battled to a 28-26 win in set number two. A tight third set ensued before the Falcons took control and won 25-16. The final set was a little bit closer before the Panthers fell 25-20.
York was led offensively by Shiloh Lively and Brooke Winquist. Each player finished with 11 kills, while Lively had just three hitting errors. As a team the Panthers hit just .113, while the Falcons nearly doubled that number with a percentage of .205.
Darby Wright was consistent as the number two player dishing up 34 assists on 44 kills. She added 15 digs and five kills to her tally sheet. Alexandria Garcia was a wall defensively as she dug up 18 attacks. Elisa Cardona and Emma Peters added nine to their total for the night.
York has a busy week as they travel to Oklahoma Wesleyan on Wednesday before playing back-to-back on Friday and Saturday. The Panthers will be hosting Briar Cliff on Friday night followed by a road trip to McPherson, Kan. on Saturday.
The Panthers fall to 5-13 overall and 1-2 in KCAC play.
