Box Score 2 YORK - York fought hard and narrowly missed an upset over the number 21 ranked team in the NAIA McPherson College Bulldogs. In a soft drizzle that hampered much of the first half the Panthers battled to a 0-0 tie over the first 45 minutes of play. The Bulldogs pushed hard all game and eventually broke through as they were playing a man-up since midway through the first half.
The Bulldogs scored in the 62nd minute and then followed with an insurance goal in the 71st. York had a chance to take the lead early in the second half but a point-blank stop by the Bulldogs' goalkeeper kept the game knotted at zero.
York had six shots on goal with Alexandre Motta leading the team with two.
York falls to 3-8 on the season and will have a tough game ahead as they travel to Salina, Kan. to face Kansas Wesleyan. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. kick-off on Wednesday.
