YORK - York College jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first 40 minutes of play and cruised to a 5-3 win on Wednesday afternoon at the Cornerstone Sports Complex. The second half got a little more exciting as the Panthers subbed several starters out for some rest, but the Spires scored three goals, two in a six-minute span, before the Panthers got an insurance goal to go up 5-3.

Archford Manduvi scored in the 11th minute after a deflection off of a defender came right to Manduvi's foot. He wasted no time scoring the goal past an off-balanced goalkeeper. Johan Rodriguez scored off of a pass from Manduvi five minutes later that gave a little bit of cushion for the Panthers.

Tamas Sebestyen scored back-to-back goals for York as a rout seemed to be in the works for the Panthers. With a 4-0 lead head coach Tyler Wilt gave some players some rest in the second half to prepare for the final stretch of the season. But a 52nd-minute goal gave some fire to the Spires. That goal didn't seem to worry York much until a goal in the 73rd minute followed by a 79th minute goal that made the score 4-3.

Manduvi scored in the 90th minute for a sigh of relief for the Panthers. 

York had a 19-11 shot advantage. Sixteen of those were on frame. Manduvi and Jose Calderon led the Panthers with three shots each.

The Panthers have the weekend off before traveling to Kansas City, Mo. on Wednesday for a game against Avila University.
