Box Score YORK - York scored three unanswered goals on their way to a 3-1 victory Saturday afternoon at the Cornerstone Sports Complex. After allowing a goal in the fifth minute of play the Panthers picked up their game to come away with their third win in KCAC play.
Less than a minute after giving up a goal the Panthers scored after a pass from Tamas Sebestyen found Alexandre Motta right in front of the goal as he headed in the cross for the tie. Twenty minutes later it was Archford Manduvi that received an errant kick from the Braves goalkeeper about 30 yards out from the goal. He settled the ball and then passed through the middle to Johan Rodriguez who scored the game-winner in the 27th minute of play.
York controlled the pace of the game but was still on their toes as the Braves were just one shot away from tieing the game. That was until the 90th minute when Manduvi scored on a one-touch shot following a phenomenal build-up. Gabriel Cabral sent a 50-yard pass from the left-side at midfield all the way to the right corner near the top of the penalty area. Sebastian Sanhueza collected the pass and drop it back six yards for Manduvi to knock it in past the goalkeeper.
York dominated the offensive attack with a 16-8 advantage on shots. Rodriguez and Manduvi led the team with three shots apiece. Cabral, Sebestyen, and Reinaldo Kickhofel were each credited with two shots.
Cristofer Monje picked up the win in goal for the Panthers as he was credited with two saves on the afternoon.
York will host Sterling College in a midweek KCAC game on Tuesday afternoon. Game time is slotted for 3:30 p.m.
