Box Score In the first competition of the spring, the York College Panthers had a tough task as they faced the Eagles of Oklahoma Wesleyan. The Eagles had only lost one game on the season so far and the Panthers discovered why. Despite playing a solid game defensively the Panthers were unable to get many offensive opportunities, while the Eagles created plenty. That resulted in the 4-0 decision.
York picked up five shots on the afternoon, four of which were on goal. The Eagles had 31 shots, and 20 of those were on frame. Alexa Moreno and the defense did as much as they could, blocking 16 of the 20 they faced.
The Panthers did allow Oklahoma Wesleyan's star player Marjolen Nekesan to score below her season average. She currently is ranked second in total goals scored with 19 and first in goals/game at 1.9. She was only able to score once on Saturday against the Panthers.
The Panthers that were credited with shots on goal were Elizabeth Ryan, Logan Dye, Jazmin Pineda, and Kaitlyn Morales.
York will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Doane University for a non-conference matchup.
