Box Score YORK - York University dominated in their final home match of the season as they shut out the Threshers of Bethel College 3-0. Johan Rodriguez scored the game-winner just seven minutes into the contest as he made a couple of nice moves around two defenders after Otavio Avila passed him the ball. Rodriguez then returned the favor to Avila in the second half as he dished the ball off for Otavio to score. Logan Brown finished out the scoring as Avila passed a nice ball across the goal for Brown to finish for his first collegiate goal on senior day.
The Panthers outshot the Threshers 12-8. Bethel only accumulated three shots on goal. Cristofer Monje had an easy day in the goal as he picked up two saves and then a great defensive save kept the shutout intact.
Aside from Rodriguez and Avila, Tamas Sebestyen amassed two shots for the Panthers.
With the win in the regular season finale the Panthers secured the sixth seed in the KCAC tournament and will travel to Ottawa University on Friday to take on the Braves. The Braves finished the season as the three-seed in the tournament. York and Ottawa tied in their regular-season matchup.
York finishes the regular season with an overall record of 6-5-7.
