Panthers come away with draw against Sterling

Box Score

Sterling, KAN. - York was looking to move up the KCAC standings with a win on the road but was unable to capture the task as they tied the Sterling Warriors 1-1. York scored just four minutes into the contest as Tamas Sebestyen dribbled through several defenders before passing the ball over to Matias Madriaga who slotted the defenders and got it past the goalkeeper. With the momentum on their side the Panthers looked to continue attacking but were unable to sneak one past the defense.

The Warriors scored on an unassisted play in the 26th minute that took the air out of the Panthers' attack. York outshot the Warriors in the second half but could not capitalize. Matej Hron was solid in the back for the Panthers as he picked up six saves. The defense was solid as well saving a shot off of the line to keep the game knotted at one.

The draw was the fifth of the season for York and the fourth in conference play. York looks to get back in the win column with a home game on Wednesday as they host Tabor College. The men will play at 1:00 p.m.
