Box Score Ottawa, KAN. - York University's season came to an end in the KCAC Quarterfinal round as the Panthers fell 3-1 to Ottawa University. After tying 1-1 in the regular season the Panthers hoped to upset the #3 seed in the postseason but the Braves had different plans as they quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 22 minutes into the competition.
Johan Rodriguez got the Panthers on the board in the 35th minute of play and gave some life to the Panthers. However, the Braves scored five minutes later for an insurance goal.
Both teams kept battling but the Panthers looked to get back into the game late in the second half. A scoring opportunity off of a free kick was negated with an offsides call. That deflated the Panthers' comeback attempt and the Braves defense held strong for the final four minutes of play.
York held a 10-9 advantage on shots but the difference came down to saves. The Panthers registered just one save on the night while the Braves registered six.
The Panthers finish their season 6-6-7.
