The Panther volleyball team battled against the 19th team in the country Ottawa University on Saturday but ultimately fell short of the upset as they lost 25-19, 25-23, 25-15.
In the final game of the season the Panthers showed grit and determination against their strong competition. Even with the loss York showed their growth this season as they competed down to the final point in the match.
Jai Dotson was on fire for the Panthers as she hit .389 on the day with nine kills.
Danielle Armendariz and
Jasmine Scarbrough added seven kills each as well. Scarbrough was tough all the way around as she picked up eight digs and added three service aces as well.
Mariah Janda led the Panthers with 22 assists.
Emma Kerley had the only solo block on the day for York with four Panthers earning block assists. Those were Scarbrough, Armendariz,
Kenna Tarnowski, and Dotson.
York had a large crowd on hand as they said good bye to three seniors:
Danielle Armendariz,
Jasmine Scarbrough, and
Brooke Halterman.
