HILLSBORO, Kan. – The York University softball team lost a pair of games at Tabor College Tuesday afternoon in KCAC action.
Game scores were 17-5 and 18-0.
The Panthers are now 6-28 on the year, including 4-14 in league play.
Head coach
Aaron Alvarez's team trailed 2-0 after the first frame, but quickly bounced back to take a 4-2 lead.
Kayla Noelker singled to get things going and moved to second on
Nevaeh Reed's base hit.
Skylar Gripp loaded the bags with an infield hit and Saraiah Ayala drove in a run with a base knock back to the pitcher.
Breanna Underwood's fly ball plated Reed, knotting the score at 2-2. Moments later,
Sofia Perez reached on a single to right, allowing Gripp and Ayala to cross home for a 4-2 edge.
Down 8-4 in the third, Noelker doubled to center field and hustled to third on Reed's base knock. Two batters later, Ayala's single to center field made it 8-5.
Tabor scored seven runs in the third and two in the fourth en route to the win.
For the game, Ayala,
Paige Chapman and Noelker led the way with three hits apiece. Ayala drove in two runs while Noelker scored twice. Reed and Underwood accounted for two hits each.

Kaitlyn Roe worked 2.2 frames while
Malia Alvarez worked the final 1.1 innings.
Game two saw Ayala record a one-out single in the first inning. However, the Panthers were unable to push across a run. Reed walked with two down in the second stanza, but Tabor College plated 14 runs in the bottom of the inning.
Down 18-0 in the fifth stanza,
Tricia Trice led off with a single to center field. Three straight outs ended the contest.
For the game, Ayala and Trice recorded hits.
In the circle,
Alex Harwell worked 1.2 innings while Alvarez threw the final 2.1 innings and had a pair of strikeouts.
