YORK, Neb. – The York University men's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision to Kansas Wesleyan Wednesday afternoon in the KCAC opener.
The Panthers are now 1-3-2 on the season, including 0-1 in KCAC action. Kansas Wesleyan improves to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in league play.
York blasted the first shot of the contest, which occurred when
Alex Hulme blasted an attempt that was stopped by the keeper.
Kansas Wesleyan registered nine shots in the opening half, including six on goal. All six shots on target were saved by
Jamie Watt.
In the 51
st minute, the visitors struck for what turned out to be the match-winning goal. The visitors tacked on an insurance score in the 75h minute of play for the 2-0 score.
In goal, Watt registered nine saves on 11 shots.
