YORK, Neb. – The York University volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision to McPherson College Wednesday evening.
The Panthers are now 12-18 on the year, including 2-7 in KCAC action. The Bulldogs are now 25-1 overall, including 8-0 in league play.
Head coach
Irick Gardner's team was led by
Brianna Lemke and
Jassania Joseph, who had five kills each.
Jai Dotson had three kills while
Emma Kerley and
Kaylee Weigel notched two kills apiece.
Kensey Clifton and
Meadow Nusbaum garnered seven assists each.
Defensively, Clifton had six digs while
Valentina Jimenez and
Ambar Ortiz had five digs each. Joseph tallied a solo block while Dotson and Lemke had a block assist.
Joseph slammed home a kill for a 7-6 lead in the first frame. Two plays later, Joseph posted a point for a one-point margin. A kill by Weigel started a 4-0 spurt by York. During the run, Clifton served up an ace while Dotson and Lemke combined for a block for a 12-9 edge. The Bulldogs countered with a 16-3 spurt for the 25-15 win.
McPherson College ended up claiming 25-11 and 25-9 wins for the victory.
For the match, York had 17 kills and 15 assists. The team tallied 28 digs.
