YORK, Neb. – The York University women's soccer team lost a 4-0 decision to the fifth-ranked team in the country, Oklahoma Wesleyan ,Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers are now 3-12-3 on the season, including 3-8-2 ledger in KCAC action.
York blasted the first shot of the contest. At the 7:20 mark,
Gracie Reynolds launched an attempt, but it was foiled by the opposing keeper.
Sofia Falcao turned away three shots within a six-minute span, but Oklahoma Wesleyan jumped on top with a goal at the 23:45 mark. Falcao turned away two more shots in the opening stanza, keeping the contest at 1-0 entering the second period.
The visitors posted three goals in the first 18 minutes of the second half for a 4-0 advantage.
York tried to push forward, but the squad was unable to record another shot on frame. Falcao was admirable in goal, saving a few more attempts the rest of the way.
For the match, York had one shot on goal. Falcao turned away eight shots while playing all 90 minutes.
