SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The York University men's basketball team dropped a 92-55 game at Evangel Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers are now 4-9 on the season, including 2-5 in KCAC action.
Head coach
Mitch McMullen's team was paced by Jadin John's 16-point effort.
Devin Carroll added 11 markers while
Eli Nutting contributed 10.
Jomar Ezell had seven points in the loss.
Johnson snagged six boards while
Dave Dalge added four.
Nathaniel Owen,
Richard Massey and Nutting tallied three rebounds apiece.
Johnson dished out a team-best five assists while Dalge,
Jaxon Kilmurry and
Terrence Packer distributed two assists each.
Defensively, Dalge led the team with two steals while
Logan Beckstrom had a block.
Down 16-8, Johnson hit a pair of free throws at the 13:33 mark. Trailing 19-12, Johnson drained a shot from downtown before hitting a jumper with 11:03 to play in the half. However, that was as close as the team could get the rest of the way.
For the game, York recorded 23 points off the bench and netted 22 in the lane. The squad had 10 offensive boards and turned that into nine second-chance points. York also scored 17 points on the break.
Overall, the team hit 22-of-69 from the floor, including seven-of-35 from downtown. The team connected on all four charity tosses. The Panthers had 30 rebounds and posted 15 assists.
