York lost to Avila 2-0 on Sunday at Avila University. The Panthers were held to five shots and one shot on goal, while their goalkeeper made 11 saves.
Addison Stewart kept the Panthers even through early Eagles pressure, making three saves between 5:48 and 14:03 as the score stayed 0-0. York's recorded first-half chance came when
Lise Ravat had a shot blocked in the 23rd minute. Stewart added two more saves later in the half, and the Panthers went to halftime tied 0-0.
York fell behind 1-0 just 15 seconds into the second half on Lydia Mannino's goal for the Eagles, then answered with two
Maisie Briscoe corner kicks and shots by
Pamela Carmona Gonzalez,
Genesis Ocampo Manzo and
Samantha Bayer. Stewart kept the Panthers within one with three saves between 59:45 and 71:09, but the Eagles added a Hope Hines goal in the 75th minute. The Panthers managed one more shot from
Jenna Tutt before the match ended 2-0.
Stewart recorded 11 saves over 90 minutes, making five in the first half and six in the second. Bayer put her lone shot on goal, accounting for York's shot on frame.
