Coach Brandon

Caleb Brandon

Caleb Brandon embarked on his coaching career with a solid foundation in education and hands-on experience. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) in 2019. During his undergrad at UNO, he served as a student manager for the Men’s Basketball team while also serving as a youth basketball coach for the Omaha Sports Academy (OSA). Through his work ethic and dedication, he quickly earned his way into leadership positions in both organizations.

In 2020, Caleb took a significant step forward in his career when he was hired by Coach Burks as the Graduate Assistant for the York University Men’s Basketball team. This role allowed him to further refine his coaching techniques and gain valuable experience in team management, and learn the value of a basketball family culture.

By 2021, Caleb's dedication and expertise were recognized by his alma mater, leading to his return to UNO as the Director of Basketball Operations. In this role, he continued to contribute to the success of the Men’s Basketball program, overseeing operations and ensuring the team ran smoothly both on and off the court.

After some time in this role, Caleb decided to take a step back from coaching college basketball to focus on spending more time with his family, growing a stronger relationship with God, and enjoying the early stages of fatherhood. During this period, he remained active in the basketball community by coaching youth in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, and focusing on player development. This time away from college basketball allowed him to deepen his coaching philosophy, emphasizing the importance of family, faith, and personal growth.

This year marks an exciting new chapter as Coach Brandon returns to York University as an Assistant Coach for the Men’s Basketball team. His decision to return was greatly influenced by the mentorship and guidance of Coach Burks, who played a pivotal role in his development as a coach. Brandon’s coaching style is deeply influenced by his commitment to family, his faith, and his dedication to developing players both on and off the court. Coach Brandon believes that a strong support system and personal development are crucial for success, and he strives to instill these values in his players. His leadership skills, honed through years of experience and mentorship, are a cornerstone of his coaching approach, inspiring both players and fellow coaches to achieve their best.
