Coach McCoy was born and raised in Estherville, Iowa where she attended and graduated from Estherville Lincoln Central. In the Fall of 2020, she continued her education at Dakota Wesleyan University, earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology.
McCoy spent all 4 years of college with the Dakota Wesleyan University Softball program where she played a key role both in the outfield and the overall rebuilding of the program. Due to a career ending injury, Coach McCoy embraced the student coaching role in her final season with the Tigers.Â
In 2021, aside from 14U and individual lessons years prior, Coach McCoy began her own coaching journey with her alma mater back in Estherville. As head freshman coach and assistant JV/varsity coach, she helped lead a very successful program to two Iowa State Tournament appearances in class 3A (2021 & 2023) and multiple undefeated conference championships. She took on a key role to speak highly on the importance of mental health and giving back to the game. McCoy also began coaching with the ELC Strength and Conditioning Program, during this time, where she helped develop young athletes physically and mentally.
Off the field, Coach McCoy enjoys working out, spending time outdoors, gaming, and hanging out with her cat, Dewey. McCoy is the daughter of Patrick & Michelle McCoy and sister to elder brother, Joel McCoy.
While at York University, McCoy will obtain a Master’s of Arts Degree in Organizational and Global Leadership: Sports Administration.Â
