Josh Nething

Coach Nething is entering his 21st year of coaching (9th at York University) and his first year as the head coach of the Panther program. Previous to this year he was an assistant coach at York University specializing in coaching the throws. Over the past 8 years he has had 14 NAIA national qualifiers, 22 NCCAA All-Americans and 5 NCCAA National Champions in the throwing events. 

Previous to York University Coach Nething spent 12 years at Montrose High School (Montrose, CO) coaching Track & Field and Football while teaching Physical Education. During his time at Montrose he coached 12 state qualifying throwers and 10 state placers. 7 of the 12 years that he coached at Montrose he led the program as the head coach. 

Coach Nething competed for York College 01’-05’ where he was a NCCAA All-American his senior year in the discus. Coach Nething's passion for Track and Field has grown every year he has coached and now he takes on a new role as the head of the program. He and his wife of 24 years, Crystal have 3 boys/young men Eli, Ethan, and Everett, as well as three rambunctious dogs and a cat.
