Box Score YORK - York University mounted several comebacks in their season home opener but were unable to rally past the visiting Lancers from Mount Marty. The Lancers picked up the 26-24, 25-23, 25-20 sweep in the Freeman Center Tuesday night.
In the first game, the jitters were all over the Panthers as they trailed by eight early on. However, the Panthers rallied back to tie the game at 23 before falling in the set. York bounced back in set two as they led through most of it before the Lancers went on a run to take the game by two. In the final set of the match the Lancers controlled the momentum and never allowed the home crowd to push York into the lead.
Aubrey Bostick led the Panthers with eight kills and a .400 hitting percentage. Jasmine Scarbrough was right behind her with seven kills. Shelby Fronk had 14 assists while Darby Wright finished with 11.
Scarbrough led the team defensively picking up eight digs. Alexandria Garcia had seven. Brooke Halterman was strong at the net with six blocks.
York looks to get back in the win column when they travel to Salina, Kansas to begin KCAC play on Wednesday, September 21st.
