YORK, Neb. – The York University men's basketball team lost a hard-fought 72-70 game to Bethany College Wednesday evening.
The Panthers are now 6-10 overall, including a 4-6 mark in league play.

Jaden Henderson's game-high 25 points on 11-of-18 shooting. He added five boards.
Trevon Dennis tallied 12 points while
Cam Clardy added 10 points in the game.

Dwight Glover and
Devondre Mayfield tallied six points apiece.
Trailing 23-12 with 11:30 to play in the first half, Mayfield found Clardy for a jumper. Clardy's lay-up with 10:22 to play made it 23-16. Down 25-16, Henderson and Glover hit jumpers. With 7:21 to play,
Devin Carroll drained a three-ball. Dennis' free throw made it 25-24 at the 6:44 mark.
The Panthers took the lead behind the stellar play of Dennis. He drilled a three-point bucket at the 6:02 mark. Twenty-four seconds later, Bennett found him for a thunderous dunk, giving the home team a 29-28 lead.
The back-and-forth affair saw York take a 33-31 lead behind another dunk from Dennis. Bethany College went on a 7-0 spurt before Henderson ended the half with a three-point bucket to make it 38-36 at the break.
Henderson's bucket just 29 ticks into the second half knotted the score at 38-38. Down 46-42, Carroll found Bennett for a basket at the 15:26 mark. Dennis tied the game with a dunk with just under 15 minutes to play.
Trailing 49-49, Clardy found Dennis for a lay-up. Clardy and Henderson added baskets before Henderson's lay-up extended the advantage for the Panthers to 56-49 at the 11:19 mark. York took a six-point lead when Mayfield scored on an inside shot with 9:11 to play.
Bethany battled back but the Panthers maintained the slim advantage at 64-63. Trailing by one, Clardy gave the home team the lead at the 3:47 mark. The back-and-forth contest saw York down by one, 67-66, before Henderson and Glover found the bottom of the net for a 70-67 lead with 2:00 to play.
The Swedes tied the game at the 1:06 mark and scored with 28 seconds to play. York missed a three-point attempt with three seconds to go and Clardy recorded the offensive rebound but the home team could not get another shot off in the two-point loss.
For the game, the Panthers hit 32-of-62 (51.6 percent) from the floor, including five-of-18 (27.8 percent) from the three-point line. The lead changed 15 times and was tied eight times. York dished out 11 assists and held an 18-13 advantage in points off turnovers.
