YORK, Neb. – The York University women's basketball team lost a 91-64 game to the University of Saint Mary Wednesday evening.
The Panthers are now 3-13 overall, including 2-10 in KCAC play.

Corinna Minjarez's team was led by Brittany Schroer's 16-point effort.
Imani Honey added eight points and six rebounds in the contest.
Pasiko Hivichiani registered seven points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists.
York took an early 4-2 lead after Schroer netted four consecutive points – with the last two points coming off a pass from
Imani Honey. The visitors embarked on a 12-0 run before Hivichiani registered a lay-up to make it 14-6. The rest of the frame was fairly even.
Olivia Shannon cut the deficit to eight at 20-12 on a three-point shot but the Spires held a 26-14 edge going into the second period.

Arcadya Conway for a lay-up to make it a 36-23 game. Down 42-28,
Destiny Shepherd hit a free throw and Schroer made two more shots from the stripe to pull within 11 with 1:44 to go in the half but Saint Mary maintained a 47-34 advantage at the break.
USM led 56-34 before Shepherd and Schroer made back-to-back shots. With just under 5:00 to play in the third quarter, Honey canned a jumper to make it 56-40.
Xuriyah Harry's lay-up cut the deficit to 14, 56-42, at the 4:36 mark. However, that was the closest the team could get. The Panthers battled the Spires nearly even in the final quarter.
For the game, York hit 21-of-67 from the floor (31.3 percent), including five-of-13 from downtown (38.5 percent). The squad got to the charity stripe 25 times and hit 17 attempts (68.0 percent). The team dished out 13 assists and registered 17 points off 19 turnovers. Minjarez's squad garnered 28 points in the paint compared to 16 by the visitors.
