YORK, Neb. – The York University men's soccer team lost a 2-0 match to Oklahoma Wesleyan Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers are now 5-5-3 on the year, including a 4-3-1 ledger in KCAC action. OKWU moves to 11-1 overall and 8-0 in league play.
Down 2-0 after a pair of early scores by the visitors,
Sergio Bueno's shot at the 41:09 mark sailed just high of the frame. York was unable to get another shot off prior to intermission.
After halftime,
Diego Yanes opened the period with a shot on frame at the 46:07 mark. However, it was stopped.
The Panthers recorded a pair of attempts – at the 71:13 mark and another five minutes later – that sailed high of the crossbar.
In the 78
th minute, Yanes' header was thwarted by the goalkeeper en route to the clean sheet.
For the match, York tallied five shots, including two on goal. The squad earned four corner kicks in the contest.
In goal,
Jamie Watt played all 90 minutes and totaled four saves.
