YORK, Neb. – The York University women's soccer team scored two late goals for the 2-0 victory over Bethel Wednesday afternoon.
The Panthers are now 5-4-1 on the year, including 2-2-1 in KCAC action.
York was paced by
Zippora Nigg's score in the 80
th minute.
Gracie Reynolds took the ball and played it to Nigg, who rocketed home the score for what turned out to be the match-winning goal.
In the 86
th minute,
Sofia Villa Monterd connected with Reynolds, who added to her season total with the tally.
York was the aggressor the entire match, totaling 25 shots, including 14 on target, to just six attempts by Bethel – and just two were on frame.
The Panthers aggressiveness showed up as the squad recorded six corner kicks in the contest.
For the match, Reynolds totaled seven shots, including four on goal. She had one goal and an assist.
Ava Gibson Doyle garnered three shots, including one on target.
Laia Gallego Balado notched three shots, with two on goal. Nigg posted four shots with three being on target.
In goal,
Harumi Cornejo played all 90 minutes and had two saves for the shutout victory.
