YORK, Neb. – The York University men's soccer team lost a hard fought 2-1 decision to McPherson College Wednesday afternoon.
The Panthers are now 5-6-4 on the year, including 4-4-2 in KCAC action.
York registered the first shot of the match when
Alex Hulme blasted an attempt in the third minute. The home team continued pushing forward as
Diego Yanes recorded a shot at the 14:06 mark. After a shot on goal by
Tomas Viralhadas, the Bulldogs rattled off four consecutive attempts.
In the 30
th minute,
Sergio Bueno rocketed an attempt that found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. The contest would remain at that score until the second stanza.
York posted attempts by Hulme and
Vinicius Pie in the early portion of the second frame, but McPherson College garnered four consecutive shots, including one that tied the match in the 68
th minute of play.
The Bulldogs found the match-winning score at the 83:32 mark and did not allow York to record another shot in the contest.
Bueno tallied the team's lone goal of the match.
Between the pipes,
Alexandre Florens played all 90 minutes and stopped seven shots.
