YORK, Neb. – The York University baseball team saw its six-game winning streak snapped in the series finale against Friends University.
The Falcons won the game by a score of 20-0.
The Panthers are now 16-20 on the season, including 8-15 in KCAC action.
Daniel Polo led the team with a pair of hits.
Cesar Galvan,
Ian Heck and
Ryan Romero also notched base hits in the contest. Heck belted out a double for the Panthers.
Derek Dunn,
Austin Grant and Galvan also drew walks.
Friends University got on the board with nine runs in the second inning. The visitors added two in the third, five in the fourth and four in the sixth.
In the bottom of the first, Galvan registered a two-out single up the middle and moved to third on Heck's double to center field. However, a groundout ended the threat.
Trevor Peterson was hit by a pitch in the second inning and hustled to second on Polo's single. A double play and a line drive ended the inning.
The Panthers' best scoring chance came in the fifth stanza. With one down, Grant drew a walk and moved to second when
Secundino Morales was hit by a pitch. Galvan walked to load the bases, but back-to-back strikeouts ended the stanza.
On the mound,
Thomas Fogle got the start and worked 1.1 innings.
Sam Maudsley tossed 1.2 frames and had a strikeout.
Owen McClung worked two-thirds of an inning.
Dalton Juden threw 1.1 frames and had two strikeouts.
Jackson Van Roekel registered a strikeout in an inning of work.
