York, Neb. - The York University women's soccer team registered a 7-0 victory over Bethany Wednesday afternoon.
The Panthers are now 2-9-1 on the season, including 2-5-1 in KCAC action.
York broke open the match in the 12
th minute when
Ellie Reynolds found
Samantha Bayer, who promptly rocketed a shot past the keeper for a 1-0 advantage.
The score remained the same until
Maisie Briscoe tacked on the team's second goal in the 38
th minute of action.
Paisly Cleveland and
Emma Walsh were each credited with assists on the play.
The Panthers tacked on a late goal just before halftime as
Gracie Reynolds pelted home a shot for a 3-0 margin at the break.
Just 4:50 into the second period,
Gracie Reynolds connected with Bayer for the fourth goal of the contest.
Cara Van Der Straaten got into the act, blasting a shot past the keeper at the 61:03 mark for a 5-0 edge. Just two minutes later,
Ellie Reynolds connected with
Simone Loga for a six-goal margin.
Briscoe wrapped up the scoring in the 77
th minute with a sensational goal.
For the match, York recorded seven goals with five assists. The Panthers tallied 27 shots, including 17 on frame. York earned 13 corner kicks.
Sofia Falcao played 72 minutes and notched three saves.
Kendall Prieto completed the shutout with 18 minutes between the pipes.
Bayer and Briscoe scored two goals apiece while
Ellie Reynolds dished out two assists.
Gracie Reynolds, Van Der Straaten and Loga netted goals.
