Men's Soccer: Panthers cruise in 5-0 win over Bethel

YORK, Neb. – The York University men's soccer team cruised to a 5-0 win over Bethel Wednesday afternoon.

The Panthers are now 11-3-3 on the season, including 8-1-3 in KCAC action.

Tim Schafer led the way with two goals while Nick Uhrich, Archford Manduvi and James McAlister all had goals. Manduvi also dished out an assist. Finlay Lee, Santiago Roldan, Franco Pablot and Joao Vitor Tavares all had assists.

York broke open the scoring at the 2:12 mark when Pablot found Schafer for a quick 1-0 lead. The score remained the same until the final minute of the period. Manduvi connected with McAlister for a two-goal lead at the 44:09 mark.

Just 2:48 into the second stanza, Lee dished a pass to Manduvi, who promptly hammered home a shot for a 3-0 lead. Vitor Tavares' pass to Schafer at the 56:06 mark led to his second score of the goal, which gave the Panthers a 4-0 advantage.

Uhrich completed the scoring in the 83rd minute of play when he found the back of the net off a pass from Roldan.  

Schafer, Lee and Kaden Ogle led the way with three shots apiece while Pablot added two.

For the match, York dominated virtually every statistical category. The Panthers tallied 19 shots, including nine on goal. Jamie Watt played 76 minutes in goal and had two saves. Braden Austin saw the final 14 minutes between the pipes and had a save.
