YORK, Neb. – The York University men's soccer team lost a 3-1 decision to Oklahoma Wesleyan Saturday afternoon
The Panthers are now 11-4-3 on the season, including 8-2-3 in KCAC action.
York found itself down 1-0 after a goal at the 23:00 mark. The Panthers placed a shot at the 23:57 mark, but it missed high.
Alex Hulme's attempt in the 27
th minute was turned away by the keeper.
Trailing 2-0 early in the second stanza, York sliced the deficit in half at the 48:20 mark.
Asaph Achero played a tremendous ball to
Joao Vitor Tavares, who promptly rocketed home the shot to make it 2-1.
OKWU increased the advantage to 3-1 with a goal at the 58:43 mark.
The Panthers were unable to record another shot in the contest.
Vitor Tavares recorded the goal on two shots. Hulme and Schafer also notched attempts in the contest.
For the match, York had four shots, including three on goal.
Jamie Watt recorded six saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal.
The Panthers return to action in the KCAC Tournament. The bracket will be announced in the near future.
