York, Neb. – The York University women's basketball team posted a 71-60 win over Southwestern Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers are now 7-12, including 5-11 in KCAC action on the season while Southwestern falls to 3-15 on the year, including 3-13 in league play.

Corinna Minjarez's team was led by
Destiny Shepherd's double-double effort of 22 points and 10 rebounds. She also added four assists and a steal for good measure.
Ashley Rubio accounted for a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds to go along with two blocks.
Britney Schroer totaled 12 points and five rebounds while
Pasiko Hvichiani accounted for eight points, six assists and four rebounds.
Olivia Shannon had six points while
Alliyana Page added four. Page also snagged nine boards.
Down 19-15 after the first quarter, Hvichiani and Schroer hit back-to-back shots to knot the score at 19-19. Adams and Schroer drained baskets, pushing the advantage to four, 23-21. Leading 30-29, Shannon drained a three-point bucket as time expired in the quarter for a 33-29 edge at the break.
The contest was tied at 43-43 with just under three minutes to play. Rubio netted back-to-back jumpers and Shepherd nailed a three-ball for a 50-43 margin on the way to a 53-48 advantage entering the fourth quarter.
Up 60-56, Schroer canned a free throw and a jumper, extending the lead to seven, 63-56. Holding a 63-60 advantage, Shepherd made two free throws with 2:11 to go. Neither team could score again until Hvichiani hit two free throws with 40 ticks on the clock en route to the victory.
For the game, York hit 26-of-65 from the floor, including six-of-17 from the three-point stripe. The Panthers hit 13-of-18 from the charity stripe and maintained a 51-32 edge on the glass. Minjarez's team dished out 14 assists and scored 30 points in the paint.
