WINFIELD, Kan. – The York University men's soccer team netted a second-half goal and preserved the victory with a late save in the 1-0 shutout at Southwestern College.
The Panthers are now 4-2 on the season, including 1-0 in KCAC action.
York did not have a shot in the first half until
Tylo Van Wyk's attempt at the 14:04 mark. Van Wyk's shot was stopped by the keeper. With just 1:06 left in the half,
Tomas Viralhadas' attempt missed to the right.
Time was winding down, but the Panthers continued pushing forward. With 57 seconds on the clock, Tim Schafer's shot on goal was saved, keeping the contest scoreless at the break.

Franco Pablot found
Lucas Moraes for the score, making it 1-0.
Jamie Watt continued his dominance between the pipes, turning away Southwestern twice in the second period to pick up the win.
For the match, York totaled 10 shots, including four on goal. Watt stopped five shots in the shutout.
The Panthers totaled three corner kicks.
York was paced by Moraes, who had three shots, including the lone goal of the match. Viralhadas had two shots, including the one on frame.
Alex Hulme, Pablot, Van Wyk,
Joao Vitor Tavares and Schafer recorded shots in the win.
