Women's Soccer: Panthers fall to Coyotes in KCAC play

SALINA, Kan. – The York University women's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision at Kansas Wesleyan Wednesday evening.

The Panthers are now 0-6-1 on the season, including an 0-2 mark in KCAC action.

For the match, York totaled 11 shots, including four on goal. The squad earned four corner kicks.

Between the pipes, Harumi Cornejo played 80 minutes and picked up five saves. Sofia Falcao played 10 minutes and had a stop in goal.

Gracie Reynolds posted a shot at the 14:15 mark that sailed wide of the goal. She registered a shot on goal at the 18:43 mark, but it was turned away.

Down 1-0, Samantha Bayer and Lois Mattock tallied back-to-back shots, but neither were on target.

The Panthers' Cristina Prats opened the second period with a shot wide of the goal. Lise Ravat's attempt a minute later was saved. Ellie Reyolds and Maisie Briscoe each accounted for attempts, but neither were on goal.

Gracie Reynolds had a pair of shots on goal within a two-minute span near the midway point of the half.

York had a chance to slice the deficit late in the match, but the visitors were unable to find the back of the net.
