AVILA, Mo. – The York University women's soccer team recorded a 2-2 tie at Avila Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers are now 0-6-3 overall, including an 0-2-2 ledger in league play.
York jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. At the 20:13 mark,
Lise Ravat blasted a shot past the keeper for a 1-0 advantage. Just over two minutes later,
Ellie Reynolds connected a pass to
Gracie Reynolds, who promptly rocketed a shot to the back of the net for the two-goal advantage.
The visitors tried to extend the margin on a shot by
Avery Heins at the 30:01 mark, but it missed wide of the frame.
Harumi Cornejo stopped a shot in the 37
th minute, keeping the contest at 2-0 at intermission.
Avila managed to net a pair of goals in the final eight minutes of play for the tie.
For the match,
Ellie Reynolds totaled three shots, including one on goal.
Gracie Reynolds notched two shots, including a goal. Ravat tallied two shots, including a goal.
Ellie Reynolds distributed an assist.
Cornejo played all 90 minutes in goal and stopped eight shots.
York totaled 11 shots and tallied two corner kicks.
