FREMONT, Neb. – The York University men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 contest at Midland Wednesday evening in a non-conference contest.
The Panthers are now 2-1 on the season while the Warriors stand at 4-1.
York earned a corner kick at the 8:15 mark, but the team was unable to record a shot. Less than a minute later, Midland struck for a 1-0 lead. In the 35
th minute of action,
Dominic Griffin blasted a shot on goal, but it was thwarted by the keeper. A late goal by the Warriors pushed the margin to 2-0 at intermission.
The visitors had just two shots in the second period – from
Sergio Bueno and
Tylo Van Wyk, but both were high of the goal.
For the match,
Dominic Griffin had the team's lone shot on goal. Bueno,
Asaph Achero and Van Wyk also had attempts in the contest.
For the match,
Jamie Watt played all 90 minutes between the pipes and had three saves.
York tallied four shots, with one on goal. The squad earned one corner kick in the contest.
