YORK, Neb. – The York University men's basketball team dropped a 75-57 decision to Evangel Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers are now 6-18 on the year, including 4-14 in KCAC action.
Head coach
Mitch McMullen's team was paced by
Dave Dalge's 13-point, eight-rebound effort.
Eli Nutting accounted for 11 markers and six boards.
Jaxon Kilmurry added eight points.
Logan Beckstrom had seven points as did
Shaun Armstrong.
Jomar Ezell had six points and
Landon Miller chipped in five points and five boards.
Tied at 6-6, Nutting canned a lay-up. Kilmurry hit Armstrong for a three-ball, giving York what turned out to be its largest lead of the game at 11-6. Beckstrom pushed the margin to 13-11 on a jumper at the 12:29 mark. Beckstrom's three-point play gave the home team a 16-13 margin, but Evangel took the lead for good moments later.
For the game, York hit 21-of-61 from the floor, including five-of-22 from distance. The team drained 10-of-15 from the free throw line. McMullen's squad grabbed 33 boards, including seven on the offensive glass. York dished out 10 assists and forced 11 turnovers in the game. The home team netted 30 points in the lane.
