GARDEN CITY, Kan. – The York University men's golf team wrapped up the 2025-26 season with a ninth-place finish at the KCAC Championship, which concluded Wednesday afternoon.
Friends University won the tournament at two-under par, 1150. Bethany, Kansas Wesleyan, Sterling and Evangel rounded out the top five teams of the 11-team field.
The Panthers finished the four-round event at +162 over par, 1314. The team shot scores of 338-333-319-324.
Francisco Carvalho Gouveia led the way with his 25
th-place finish. He completed the tournament at 19-over par, 307. His best round was Monday's three-over par, 75. Gouveia's round on Wednesday was strong, having posted a mark of four-over par, 76.
Tanner Simmerman tied for 34
th after posting a score of 30-over par, 318. His best round was Wednesday as Simmerman shot three-over par, 75.
Malachi Meador,
Aaron Bartak and
Christian Flint were 42
nd, 43
rd and 44
th, respectively. Meador notched a 49-over par, 337. His best round was Tuesday's two-over par, 74. Bartak recorded a 69-over par, 357. On Tuesday, he shot 14-over par, 86. Flint registered a 78-over par, 366. His best round was Monday's 16-over par, 88.
