York University Names Kyle Wilson Head Coach of Track and Field and Cross Country

York University Athletics has announced the hiring of Kyle Wilson as the new head coach of the Panthers' track and field and cross country programs.

Wilson joins York after serving as the head track and field coach at Bethel College, where he previously spent three seasons as an assistant coach overseeing the throwing events. During his time with the Threshers, he coached numerous All-Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference performers while building a culture centered on athlete development, meaningful relationships and competitive excellence.

"Kyle is a great fit for our University and athletic department," York Director of Athletics Brian Walth said. "His strong Christian faith, character and passion for developing athletes align with our mission and values. I look forward to seeing the impact he will make on our track and field and cross country programs. We are excited to welcome Kyle to our community."

Before entering the coaching ranks, Wilson enjoyed a successful collegiate athletic career at Bethel College. A two-time All-KCAC offensive lineman for the Threshers football team, he also excelled in the throwing events, winning four KCAC championships in the shot put and one conference title in the discus. Wilson earned two NAIA All-America honors while setting two school records and a conference record during his track and field career.

Wilson and his wife, along with their two young daughters, are excited to begin the next chapter of their lives in York.

"My family and I are excited to join the program and help it continue to grow," Wilson said. "We look forward to meeting the student-athletes and helping them be successful both on and off the track."
