YORK - York College women's coach Matthew Madole is ready to showcase his new squad on Saturday afternoon. The team has been practicing for over a month in preparation for Saturday's season home opener against Graceland University.

The Panthers have seven letterwinners back from last year and look to improve on last season's 1-27 record. Justine Manjarrez (SR/Montebello, Calif) is the leading scorer from last year's squad still remaining. She averaged 6.3 points per game. Mikala Wilson (JR/Oklahoma City, Okla)is the leading rebounder back from last year averaging 4.4 per game.

Madole said, "We aren't sure exactly where we are at yet since we've just been playing ourselves. We know where we want to be at this early part in the season, but we won't know until Saturday afternoon. Our game against Graceland will tell us a lot. We have a young team and several players will need to get some experience at the college level."

York hosts Graceland at 2:00 pm on Saturday afternoon. Homecoming festivities will take place immediately following the game.

The Panthers were chosen to finish 12th in both the media and coaches' poll. Full release here.
