Women's Basketball falls to Bethel

North Newton, KAN. - York's offense struggled all night but after three quarters the game was still up for grabs as the host Bethel College Threshers led 44-42 going into the final period. That final period, however, was all the Threshers need to keep their undefeated season in tact winning 73-55.

York shot just 26% from the floor all night, but were able to hang around thanks to the defense forcing 30 turnovers. But York was only able to convert 25 points off of those 30 possessions. The Threshers also went to the line 38 times, compared to 21 by the Panthers. Bethel also had a plus 15 in the rebound margin.

York was led by Ariel Hernandez (FR/San Antonio, Texas) as she scored 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Ciara Williams (SR/San Diego, Calif) also notched double digits with 11 points on 4-of-17 shooting. Kellie Fredendall (SO/Jefferson City, Mo) and Maria Lopez (JR/Mendota, CA) were the only other Panthers to convert more than one field goal as each of them finished with two.

The Panthers fall to 2-4 on the season and 0-2 in KCAC play. York will travel to Omaha on Saturday, Nov. 24 for a nonconference matchup against College of St. Mary at 6:00 p.m.
