Box Score YORK - York College had a tough game on hand Friday night as they hosted Sterling College. The Warriors are currently receiving votes in the Top 25 NAIA Coaches' Poll. The Panthers were hanging around most of the first half, but the third quarter was a different story as the Warriors opened up the game by scoring 43 points in the period alone. The 29-point third-period advantage was too much for the Panthers to overcome.
Julia Trujillo (SR/Denver, Colo) led the Panthers with 19 points. Amaia Diez (JR/Pamplona, Spain) scored 14 points and brought down nine rebounds. Brileigh Slaughter (FR/Lake Charles, La.) did a good job of distributing the ball as she was credited with six assists on the night.
York held Sterling to just 15 points in the third quarter and trailed 42-27 at the break. The Warriors scored more in the third than they had all game though as they shot over 62% from the floor for the period. Sterling had five players score in double figures as they moved to a perfect 8-0.
York is currently 2-2 on the season and will travel to McPherson College on Saturday, November 28 for a 1:00 p.m. tipoff.
