Box Score North Newton, KAN. - Kiara Pesina made two free throws to put the Panthers ahead 53-52 with less than 20 seconds to play against Bethel College on Tuesday night. That was good enough for the Panthers to hold the Threshers scoreless in the final possession to secure the win.
Pesina didn't make a single shot from the floor all night, but she was phenomenal from the line as she made 9-of-10 attempts.
After scoring just 16 points in the first half, the Panthers offense found some rhythm in the third period as they exploded for 26 points.

Both teams shot under 30% from the floor for the game. The key difference was from the free-throw line. York was 16-17 from the line, while the Threshers struggled as they converted just 13-24.
Bethel held a 13-point lead in the second quarter, but the Panthers were able to battle back with their big third-quarter play.
