Women's Basketball: Shepherd earns All-Conference Honorable Mention

YORK — York University senior guard Destiny Shepherd has been named All-KCAC Honorable Mention for the 2025-26 season, as announced by the conference office.

Shepherd turned in one of the most impressive offensive seasons in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, finishing first in the conference in scoring at 19.1 points per game during league play. Her consistent production positioned her as a focal point of the Panthers' attack throughout the season.

Over the course of the 2025-26 campaign, Shepherd appeared in 28 games and totaled 535 points, averaging 19.1 points per contest. She shot 42.4 percent from the field, 35.8 percent from three-point range, and 79.9 percent from the free-throw line, showcasing efficiency at all three levels. In addition to her scoring, she contributed 2.5 rebounds, 2.35 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, demonstrating her all-around impact.

"Destiny's work ethic and competitive drive were evident every night," said York head coach Cory Minjarez. "To lead the conference in scoring speaks to her consistency and ability to perform against top competition. We're proud of the season she put together and what she was able to accomplish while part of the program."
