LINCOLN, Neb. – The York University men's golf team finished 16
th at the Doane Spring Invite, which concluded Wednesday afternoon.
The Panthers tied with CCC Columbus at 74-over par, 642.
Northwestern (IA) (-2, 566) won the event while Southeast CC (E, 568) and Doane (+1, 569) rounded out the top three teams in the 19-team field.
Francisco Carvalho Gouveia led the squad by tying for 29
th place. He shot six-over par, 148. After opening a five-over par, he tallied a second-round one-over par.
Tanner Simmerman tied for 72
nd after shooting 17-over par, 159. He notched a second-round seven-over par.
Malachi Meador was not far behind, snagging 77
th place. After opening at 13-over par, he posted a second-round five-over par for his two-round total of 18-over par, 160.
Christian Flint took 101
st at 33-over par, 171. After opening with a 22-over par, he bested that score by 11 strokes during the final round of action.
Aaron Bartak placed 104
th at 47-over par, 189. He improved by 11 strokes over the final 18 holes of play.
Aiden Espinoza was 93
rd at 24-over par and played as an individual.
The Panthers return to action Apr. 6-7 at the Lark Invitational.
